English Pen Pal Program

During the month of February, our school participated in hosting visiting teachers from England for the day.  The visiting teachers to our classroom were very friendly, and very pleased with the students and school as a whole.  They found the warm reception very welcoming. One of the visitors, Laurie Whiting, who is the Vice Principal of Bidford Primary School in Warwickshire, England has asked our class to participate in a pen pal program with her school.  As a class, I wanted to create a scrap book containing auto biography pages with photos of the students as well as tourist pictures of Toronto and Canada to send.  There might also be a possibility to visit the English classroom via Skype. Due to the fact that pictures of the students will be incorporated, and the students themselves will be live on the internet, I am requesting permission of the parents for participation.  Postcards or coloured pictures of Toronto, Ontario, or even Canada would be greatly appreciated to help decorate our book.  I feel this will be a positive experience for our students.
